Starting a Farm Enterprise

Starting a small farm business is a big job. Many small-scale farmers don't know where to turn for advice because most agricultural support services are geared toward large-scale farming. Small farmers have very different needs and goals than large farm businesses.

The Community Farms Program has created some helpful business planning tools to help new and seasoned small-scale farmers. We've put together some business training resources for small farmers.

We offer a business planning template for small farm businesses, and a set of case studies that give useful information about small farming and marketing initiatives to new farmers as well as agricultural policy makers.
